Sport Relief is back on and running mid March. We have therefore decided to “run 1 mile” for our warm up on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th March – students who attend can run on either of the days or both! If we all bring an extra £1 or so on either of the nights we can collect a good sum of money and will donate it to this great cause.
We have decided to have the Easter holidays off (enjoying the rest and getting fat with lots of eggs!) anyway, we will be here as normal up until Thursday 20th March and then off for 2 following weeks – back on Tuesday 8th April.
We normally (as a club) have a Gash-ku which is a weekend away training with other clubs on the first bank holiday of May. Due to the rise in prices, unfortunately it doesn’t look as if it is going ahead, which is a real shame as it is a great weekend on a caravan site training/socialising with each other and each other’s families. It does look as though towards the end of the year Shaun and Chantelle are going to train with other senior grades in the Lakes – we will let you know what we get up to!
KYU gradings are booked! They are for Saturday 17th May am and Saturday 15th November pm so now is the time to think about whether you want your next belt and train hard! As mentioned previously the cost will be £12.00, but that will include a new belt and certificate (if successful). So get training hard!
DAN grading is also arranged – the weekend of Saturday 18th October pm and Sunday 19th October am – provisionally booked at our Bramhall club. This maybe subject to change and we may do one of the days at our Macclesfield club. All brown belts and black belts have to attend, whether grading or not. For those who will be taking their 1st kyu brown belt or 1st dan blackbelt need to train even harder!!
Just to also keep you up to date, we will be closed at Whit half term (w/c 26th May for 2 weeks) – as we will be on our jolly hollies!
Last year we ran extra training sessions for extra practice, but these were not very well attended. We have decided not to routinely book any, but if anyone wants one or we feel we should add-in one nearer a grading, for example, we will do.
We are currently pricing up some new t-shirts with a supplier for student to wear (especially during summer months). We will keep you posted as to how much they come out at and you can decide if you want to purchase any.
