6. The Letter 'K' 7. The Off Lobe 8. The Four Corners 9. The Centred Void |
|||||||||
| All this is done in red, white and black. The colours white and black to acquaint a person to the yin, yang in the martial arts. The red for the turmoil and pain Karate One experienced in its origination. It also represents that nothing is always perfect. The white gives us the sense of purity we are all attempting to achieve, with the goal of the black belt as part of the mission. The number One ls there to remind us where we belong. Not only to ourselves, but in the public's eye.
Notice how the red lobe is touched on four sides by the letter 'K' which stands for Karate. This symbolises the four corners of the world Karate One is reaching, as well as the directions of the four winds of understanding the martial arts gives us; in searching for this knowledge of the void. |

| THE SWANDA LOGO
The Dragon and the Martial Artists. The age old parody by Karateka to emulate this imaginary creature the Dragon, is the centre of the nine animals in the Swanda System. |
||||||||||
| It is the animal that draws qualities from the other eight. It is the all omnipotent, the perfect warrior. It can attack in a linear direction, by cunning, twist, and balance itself. The Dragon can move swiftly, claw, breathe fire and have tremendous strength. Be agile and fly, good and bad. Notice how it displays the right claw in a sign of peace as well as power. The tail winding in the wind reminds us of its potency, as the ferocious head looks at you in an intimidating manner. The two moons depicted are there to remind us of a martial arts, two different worlds. The one is a uniform and the other as a civilian. The moons also remind us of the heavens. The clouds for the winds as the lines across the heavens give us lightening. The growing trees from the earth are the foreground for lake between it and the mountains. As the water fills the lake the fire is symbolised by the Dragon. The void is in understanding what surrounds the martial artists. This Martial Artist steps over the dragon showing our attempt at striving to become this warrior. One open hand to show peace and understanding, one clenched fist to display the weapon, in a fighting posture. It is these two elements; the Martial Artist -something real, and the- Dragon-something imaginary. Both together, softly, searching for understanding through the Void.
So; soft style Double Man (The Warrior/Dragon-Martial Artists) Together Fighting. The technical Chinese Mandarin Statement -Lou She Swan Learn Duae Da. |
