Now to prove that this is so, this particular piece would most probably lie somewhere on a meridian that bisects the front part of your body running between your legs, the belly button, chin and nose. So if this piece is the centre of your universe then it most likely would have to be perfectly balanced in your body; and if a person could be lifted and balanced from this spot you would be equally proportioned out. So if you were to lie down and have your head lifted to see if the centre of your universe were housed there, we would see that your body was not balanced out. Next we do the same for the heels and discover that this area is not the centre of your universe also. The shoulders are tried next, but again, this is not balanced. The hips are then attempted, and almost, but not quite do we balance the body.
On the average person depending on where the belly button is located, approximately 2 to 3 inches below the belly button is the centre. Here is where the body can be equally balanced out. It is this spot that we refer to as the centre of your universe.
If this is the centre of your universe then according to martial arts logical thinking, all would have to start from this spot. Just think for a moment, where is conception; where are you given birth? Where does it all start from. Correct, so this is the origin, the beginning; the centre of your universe.
